About Shany Moreno Jewelry
Our Story
I’ve always loved creating. From painting to photography, my artistic journey has been a constant exploration of expression. It wasn't until my 30s that I found my true passion in jewelry making. Initially, I experimented with wire to create small sculptures and jewelry pieces. Wanting to expand my skills, I enrolled in a silversmith course. What began as a simple interest quickly turned into an obsession, especially when I discovered wax carving. It allowed me to sculpt the animals I love and connect with deeply. My first piece was a 3D bat pendant, hand-carved in wax and cast in silver.
Opening my Etsy shop was a leap of faith. I wasn’t sure if others would resonate with my nature-inspired jewelry. But soon, I discovered a community of like-minded people who share my adoration for animals and the natural world. That’s when I realized that my work wasn’t just about making jewelry—it was about connecting with others who cherish nature as much as I do.
The Artist Behind the Jewelry
I’m Shany, an artist living in Israel with my partner and our beloved cats. My passion for animals goes beyond jewelry; it's a core part of who I am. As a child, I became a vegetarian after learning about the mistreatment of animals, and later, I embraced veganism to further honor my love for animals and nature.
In my free time, you’ll find me advocating for animal rights, meditating, practicing yoga, or helping animals in need. My love for animals and nature fuels my creativity, and my jewelry is a tribute to the beauty and spirit of the creatures that inspire me every day.
Why I Create
In a market saturated with mass-produced jewelry, I felt there was a gap—an absence of meaningful, personal pieces that connect us to nature. I wanted to craft jewelry that not only embodies the beauty of animals but also carries a spiritual significance. Each piece I create is like a personal totem, a reminder of the deep bond we share with nature. My jewelry isn’t about perfection; it’s about personality, energy, and the unique character of each animal.
I believe that jewelry should have a soul. It should resonate with the wearer, reminding them of the magic and wisdom that animals bring into our lives. Whether it's a mountain lion ring or a whale pendant, every piece is made to order and handcrafted with care, so it can carry the energy of its creation into the world.
The Impact of My Work
Over the years, I've been humbled by the feedback from my customers. They tell me that my jewelry helps them feel more connected to nature and their spiritual journey. Here’s what some of them have said:
- "The mountain lion is my spirit animal, and to find a beautiful portrayal of one was wonderful! She has a gorgeous and powerful face! So happy to have her!"
- "I absolutely love this ring! Woods are pretty much my favorite places, and I appreciate every forest creature there is. The snail crawling over the mushroom captures a magical moment, and I love to wear this stunningly well-made ring to remind me of nature's wonders."
These words are what keep me creating. Knowing that my pieces become cherished symbols for those who wear them means everything to me.
Where We're Going Next
I have many ideas in the works, from new wax-carved animal designs to 3D modeling smaller, more delicate pieces. My vision is to continue crafting jewelry that stays true to its artistic roots while exploring new materials and techniques. I'm excited to introduce new designs that will allow even more people to carry a piece of nature with them every day. And of course, I’ll keep accepting custom orders, bringing your unique visions to life.
In My Own Words
"Animals and nature are my endless sources of inspiration. They remind me of the interconnectedness of all life and the beauty in every living being. My jewelry is my way of honoring that connection and sharing it with others. Every piece I create is more than just jewelry; it's a tribute to the creatures that fill our world with wonder."
The Studio
Nestled in the center of Israel, my studio is close to my home, surrounded by a garden that's often visited by a hedgehog family. It's a peaceful environment where I can connect with nature as I work. Here, I handcraft each piece, infusing it with the spirit and energy of the natural world around me.
